100 Word Challenge - Week 14 by Caleb

My friend Leppy the leprechaun had a rusty old ship he lived in. He lived a mile away from Ireland on a island. The ship was made into a home in the 90′s and it was a mystery why it was broken down. But there were rumours about it and Leppy didn’t like it at all. When ever I got onto the subject, Leppy would quickly change it. Then one day I heard Leppy talking about the ships history to his grandfather. “A orca steered it onto this bank of rocks”. Then he saw me! I was doomed!

100 Word Challenge - Week 14 by Ben

I was at my grandpa’s house and I asked my grandpa to tell me a story. He told me a story about a very old ship.It was named the hurricane. The hurricane was sailing at night and suddenly it jerked to a stop.all the sailors rushed out and saw the silhouette of a light house.Inside the light house a man was sleeping. His boss rushed in,turned on the light and shouted,”you’re fired.”Meanwhile it was morning and all the sailors on the hurricane saw they were on stones. That was the end of the story.

Student Led Conferences

What a wonderful way to showcase our classrooms many talents!  The students did a wonderful job sharing with their families the wonderful and exciting things they have done and learned in the first term.  While there were many things for the students to be proud of, I know that they really enjoyed sharing with their families the different videos they made using the Adove Voice app to showcase their work on their "Oh the Places You'll Go" and "Extreme Weather" writing pieces.

Due to some technical difficulty, unfortunately at the time of the conferences I was unable to upload all of the videos and create QR codes for them.  I will continue to try and get all of the videos uploaded and if families are interested I can email copies of the videos or send home with the students the QR codes to the videos.  If you are interested in having these videos please just send me an email, write a note in the agenda, or ask your child to let me know.

Just a reminded that our Winter Concert will be taking place on Wednesday December 17th at 1:30pm and 7:00pm in the Gym.  I hope to see you all there!
